March Daily Bread 2

March Daily Bread 2
Copy the questions in your Daily Bread book and show your workings.

1.  Rick bought 12 shirts and pants. One shirt costs $32 and one pair of
pants costs $24. He paid $352 in total. How many shirts did he buy?

2. In a departmental store, a dress costs $2k and a pair of shoes costs $30.
Wendy has $(5k + 41). She buys 1 such dress and 1 such pair of shoes.

(a) Express the amount of money Wendy has left in terms of k.

(b) If k = $23 and Wendy wants to buy 2 such dresses, how much
     money does Wendy have left?

3. Gary gets $2 more weekly pocket money than Ali. Every week,
they each spend $15 on transport and save the rest. When Gary
saves $99, Ali only saves $81.

a) How many weeks does Gary take to save $132?
b) How much pocket money does Ali get each week?

Love you much,
Mrs Mak
