1. The total mass of 6 boys is 345 kg.  What is the mass of 1 boy if each
    of their masses is the same?

2. Lily had chocolate and butter cookies.  The ratio of the number of chocolate cookies
    to the number of butter cookies is 5 : 7.  If she has 175 butter cookies, how many 
    cookies has she at first?

3. Husna bought some honey at $2.40 per 100 g.  If she bought 5/8 kg of honey, 
    how much must she pay for it?

4. Nadiah has some Singapore stamps and some foreign stamps. 7/12 of her stamps 
    are Singapore stamps.  If she has 178 more Singapore stamps than foreign stamps, 
    how many stamps has she in total?

5.  To make an orange drink, Mrs Teo needs to mix water with orange cordial in the 
      ratio of 3 : 1.  How much water does she need to make 52 litres of orange drink?

1.John had 150 cm of string.  He divided it into 4 equal parts.  What is the length of 1 part?


2. In a fruit shop, the ratio of the number of apples to the number of oranges was 1 : 2.  
     If there was a total of 45 fruits, how many oranges were there in the shop?


3. In a school bus, there were 64 pupils.  If there were 36 boys, what was the ratio of the number of boys to the number of girls?


4. Find the cost of 35 kg of beans if the cost of 5 kg of the same beans is $14.50.


5.  Mr Ng gave 3/5 of his money that he received to his wife and he saved the rest.  
     If he had $1750, how much money did he save?

Dear all,
Let's start our Daily bread for year end 2016 to prepare ourselves for a better 2017.

You have a choice whether  to copy the questions. However, if I were you, for my self-directed learning purpose, I would copy the questions.

Do the questions in the exercise book.


1. 3 hundreds, 2 tens and 6 hundredths is the same as ___________.

2.  7/9 of number is 63.  What is the number?

3. The ratio of the number of boys to the number of girls in a school hall was 7 : 5. 
If there were 42 more boys than girls in the hall, how many pupils were there in the hall?

4. Wayne and Ryan shared some money in the ratio of 5 : 4. 
    If they shared a total of $108,what was Ryan’s share?

5. A shopkeeper bought 20 packets of sugar.  Each packet had 2.5 kg of sugar.
  He repacked the sugar into packets of 2 kg each.  How many of such packets 
  of sugar did he get, if he used up all of the sugar?

6. Mr James has some sheep in his farm.  The number of sheep is from 50 to 70. 
He can group them in groups of 7 or 8 without any remainder. 
How many sheep does he have?
