3. If 10 similar buns cost $p, how much does a bun cost?

4. Find the value of 50m / 4 when m = 2

5.  At a party, 2/5 of the people were adults.  1/3 of the children were boys and there were   18 more girls than boys.  How many people were at the party?

Daily Bread 5

1.  Liz and Dennis shared some money equally.  After Liz and Dennis had 
     spent $17.80 and $54.60 respectively, Liz had five times as much money 
     as Dennis.  How much did Liz have at first? 

2.In a farm there were 45 ducks and goats.  There was a total of 126 legs
 among the ducks and goats.  What is the ratio of the number goats to the number of ducks?


3. A shopkeeper had some flour.  He sold  1/5 of it on Monday,  
    7/12 of the remainder on Tuesday.  Then he bought another 320 kg 
    of flour and he had the same amount of flour at first.  How much flour had he at first? 

4. In a concert hall, the chairs were arranged such that in each row there
     were exactly 12 chairs.  For a particular concert 6 chairs were added and 
     the chairs were rearranged to 9 chairs in each row.  As such, the number of
     rows was increased by 15 rows.  How many rows of chairs were there in
     the end?
