                Wendy has $(5k + 41). She buys 1 such dress and 1 such pair of shoes.

(a) Express the amount of money Wendy has left in terms of k.

(b) If k = $23 and Wendy wants to buy 2 such dresses, how much    
     money does Wendy have left?


3. Gary gets $2 more weekly pocket money than Ali. Every week,
 they each spend $15 on transport and save the rest. When Gary 
 saves $99, Ali only saves $81.

a) How many weeks does Gary take to save $132?
b) How much pocket money does Ali get each week?

Dear all,

1.         6 similar dresses and 2 similar skirts cost $656.60. 
            Each dress costs $31.30 more than each skirt. 
            Find the cost of 1 such dress.


2.        Tickets to a concert were sold at $48 each. 
            There is a $10 discount for every 5 tickets sold. 
            Mrs Ang paid a total of $1 476 for the tickets. 
             How many tickets did she buy?

3.         Jack had $4.50 more than Kenny. 
           Leon had $5.70 less than Jack. 
           If the three boys have an average of $4.80, 
           how much money did Jack have?

4.       Alisha had 750 Singapore and Australia coins in her collection. 
         30% of them were Australian coins. She gave away some of the
        Australian coins and the percentage of Australian coins decreased 
        to 25%. How many Australian coins were left in her collection?
